Jeremy Brinkworth has been appointed as VisitBritain`s new Head of Business Tourism, responsible for developing business travel into and within Britain.

Jeremy, who has worked for BTA/VisitBritain for 23 years, has a wealth of relevant experience in this field, holding a similar post between 1998 and 2000. Most recently he has been Head of International Product Marketing, responsible for developing overseas marketing campaigns focusing on themes and sectors such as sport, youth, gardens and movie locations.

His return to business tourism reflects the growing importance of the business travel sector, which in recent years has overtaken leisure travel as Britain`s biggest and fastest-growing market sector.

Commenting on his appointment, Jeremy Brinkworth said: We believe there is huge potential to develop the business tourism market further – especially in the premium sectors of meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions. Britain already has some fantastic products in these sectors and I am looking forward to working with the industry to see how we can become even more competitive.

Jeremy will report to International Marketing Director, Kenny Boyle, and will work closely with the network of business tourism specialists already in place in VisitBritain`s regional offices throughout the world.
