In order to facilitate the entry of tourists from Europe, the United States and other countries coming to Dubai to join cruises in Gulf waters, the Dubai Naturalisation and Residence Department (DNRD) will allocate special counters at Terminal 2 of the Dubai International Airport.

Responding to a request from an international cruise liner company organizing cruises from Dubai`s Cruise Terminal at Port Rashid, the DNRD has expressed complete willingness to contribute to promoting tourism in the emirate by making special arrangements for receiving cruise groups, Colonel Ali Bu Jsseim, Deputy Director of DNRD, said according to the Khaleej Times.

Commenting on a meeting held last week between officials of the DNRD and Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing and representatives of the cruise liner company, Col. Bu Jsseim said: We have no problem in making necessary arrangements for receiving tourists coming to Dubai to join cruises from the Cruise Terminal of Rashid Port. Col. Bu Jsseim said that tourist groups would come from 33 nationalities allowed under a Cabinet Order to enter the UAE on visas given at the entry point. The passports of these 33 countries can be read electronically by the bar code reader which makes the entry procedures easy and smooth.

Since the tourist groups will be arriving to Dubai by chartered planes, we will receive them at the Terminal 2 of the Dubai International Airport where we have allocated special counters to process their entry formalities as quickly as possible without disturbing the flow of work. From there they can be transferred to the port to join the cruises they are booked on, Col. Bu Jsseim said. He said that the service provided by DNRD was part of a chain of facilities offered by other local departments – Dnata, Ports and Customs Authority and the DTCM – with the purpose of developing tourism including.

The countries whose citizens are allowed to obtain visa on arrival include the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Spain, Germany, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Andorra, Sweden, Switzerland, Vatican, France, Finland, Monaco, Norway, Austria, Holland and Greece.
