DUSSELDORF – Peakwork and Google Cloud are expanding their cooperation: Peakwork's technology is increasingly hosted on Google Cloud and future Peakwork product enhancements and innovations will be more focused on Google Cloud technology.

Peakwork drives the digitization of the global leisure travel industry. Internationally leading travel companies such as TUI, DER Touristik and Hotelplan set on Peakwork technology to drive globalization and international growth. Peakwork also delivers flight, hotel and package travel offer data to the metasearch websites such as Google, Kayak, Trivago and TripAdvisor with massive web traffic and distribution opportunities for worldwide travel providers.

With the extended agreement, Peakwork chooses Google Cloud as its preferred cloud provider for hosting its Player Hub Technology. Peakwork benefits from Google Cloud’s highly available and secure standards with advanced support and flexibility to meet the requirements of Peakwork and its international customers operating in about 50 countries. In the transformation of Peakwork technology to cloud native solutions, all technical components are optimized for Google Cloud’ Platform and new features of Peakwork technology are partly based on Google Cloud technologies.

As a global IT partner, Peakwork processes several terabytes of hotel, flight and package travel data every day. As part of the Peakwork Big Data Initiative, billions of worldwide search and booking requests are analyzed. For this purpose, Peakwork uses Google Cloud solutions such as Pub/Sub, Data Flow, Data Studio and BigQuery to efficiently analyze and visualize such massive data volumes.

Dominik Schwarzenberger, Lead Travel & Transport Google Cloud (DACH) said: “Our cooperation with Peakwork allows us to accelerate innovation in the online travel business. Both companies accumulate resources and know-how to support the global travel industry.”

Ralf Usbeck, CEO of Peakwork, explained: "We look forward to strengthening our cooperation with Google Cloud. The exchange, both technological and commercial, is very solid. With a continuous transfer of knowledge, access to product roadmaps and the Google Cloud community as well as the connection to the GCP Marketplace, this partnership will have a significant impact on numerous innovative processes at Peakwork." For example, Peakwork and Google Cloud presented the technological integration in a joint presentation as a reference project at the 2019 Google Cloud Summit in Munich.
