Ryanair launches record Manchester’s 2017 schendule (up 13%)

Fine new summer routes to Berlin, Hamburg, Nuremberg, Oslo and Wroclaw.

Ryanair’s Manchester summer schedule will see more frequencies to sun destinations for summer family holidays, lower fares as Ryanair passes on lower fuel costs, and an even better customer experience, as it rolls out year 3 of its “Always Getting Better” customer experience programme, and will deliver:

  • 5 new S17 routes: Berlin (daily), Hamburg (daily), Nuremburg (daily), Oslo T. (4 wkly) & Wroclaw (3 wkly)
  • More flights to Alicante (16 wkly), Chania (3 wkly), Faro (15 wkly), Krakow (4 wkly), Lanzarote (6 wkly), Murcia (6 wkly), Palma (15 wkly), Rome (10 wkly), Tenerife (9 wkly) & Zadar (3 wkly)
  • 44 routes in total
  • 4.5m customers p.a. (+300,000)

Ryanair will continue to connect Manchester with major leisure and business centres on high frequency, low fare services including Dublin (5 daily), Madrid (daily) and Rome (10 wkly) with better timings and lower fares, making Ryanair the ideal choice for Manchester business and leisure customers.

In Manchester, Ryanair’s Chief Marketing Officer Kenny Jacobs said: “We are pleased to launch our biggest ever Manchester summer 2017 schedule, which includes 5 new summer services to Berlin, Hamburg, Nuremberg, Oslo and Wroclaw, as well as extra flights to Alicante, Chania, Faro, Krakow, Lanzarote, Murcia, Palma, Rome, Tenerife and Zadar, which will deliver 4.5m million customers p.a. and support 3,400* jobs at Manchester Airport.

Customers can look forward to even lower fares when they make advance bookings for summer 2017. As our recent guidance confirmed, Ryanair expects average fares to fall by between 10% to 12% in the 6 months to March 2017. There’s never been a better time to book a low fare flight on Ryanair and we urge all customers who wish to book their summer 2017 holidays to do so now on the Ryanair.com website, where they can avail of the lowest fare air travel to and from Manchester.

To celebrate the launch of our Manchester summer 2017 schedule we are releasing 100,000 seats for sale across our European network from just £19.99, which are available for booking until Thursday (15 Sep). Since these amazing low prices will be snapped up quickly, customers should log onto ryanair.com and avoid missing out.”

Ken O’Toole, Chief Executive of Manchester Airport said:  "It is pleasing to see Ryanair expanding its summer schedule from Manchester Airport, meaning there will now be year-round direct services to leading European cities like Berlin, Hamburg, Nuremberg and Oslo. These routes are proving popular with both business and leisure passengers within our catchment area, which stretches from the east to the west coasts of the UK and as far North as the Scottish borders. Coupled with increased frequencies on routes to a range of sunshine destinations, this commitment is yet another vote of confidence in Manchester and the wider North."

*ACI research confirms up to 750 ‘on-site’ jobs are sustained at international airports for every 1m passengers.
