Special needs equipment & services extended to travelers throughout Italy with SNG expansion

Italy to be the first of many countries made more accessible in SNG growth plans

FORT LAUDERDALE – Andrew Garnett, president and CEO of Special Needs Group, Inc. (SNG), the leading global provider of wheelchair rentals, scooter rentals, oxygen rentals and other special needs equipment rentals, is pleased to announce that as of May 1, 2013, the company will expand its special needs equipment and services throughout all of Italy. Until now, this service did not exist in Italy. The expansion is one of many milestones that the company has achieved to further its commitment to “Delivering an Accessible World.”

SNG will provide its equipment and services at cruise port venues and all land-based venues in Italy, making it a turnkey process for a prospective traveler with special needs to plan a trip to the country and book equipment. Italy is the first of many countries across the globe into which SNG intends to expand its all-encompassing services.

“We are very pleased to be the first company to offer this comprehensive service in Italy,” said Garnett. “By expanding into all of Italy, we are making it convenient and hassle-free for travelers with special needs to explore this fascinating country, something they may not have been able to do before,” said Garnett. “Discovering or re-discovering Rome, Naples, Milan and all other areas of Italy is now possible for anyone, even if they have special needs.”

By providing this service in Italy and countries all over the world, SNG is catering to the “silver segment” of the population, which has the time and resources to travel. By 2015, the percentage of individuals aged 65 or over is expected to jump to nearly 25 percent of the population in Europe and 20 percent in the U.S. More so than other travel segments, these individuals tend to have special needs relating to limited mobility, breathing problems, hearing loss, diminished vision, etc.
