Italy favourite country in the 2013 Conde' Nast Traveller Readers' Travel Awards

Italy was voted Favourite Country, beating traditional destinations such as France (3), Spain (4), Greece (5) and the USA (2), but also exotic and non-EU destinations.

Italy has once again confirmed itself as the favourite destination by the readers of the prestigious travel magazine Conde’ Nast Traveller.

During the awards ceremony of the 16th edition of Conde’ Nast Traveller Readers’ Awards, which took place on the evening of 2 September, 2013 at the British Museum in London, Italy was voted Favourite Country, beating traditional destinations such as France (3), Spain (4), Greece (5) and the USA (2), but also exotic and non-EU destinations.

Under the category Favourite Overseas Cities, Rome, Venice and Florence were placed in the top 10. Rome made a remarkable climb from 6th position last year to 3rd position, and Venice moved from 18th to 5th place.

In the tourism industry classification, the Grand Hotel Villa Feltrinelli was positioned in 2nd place under the category Overseas Holiday Hotels-Europe, Turkey & Russia.

The Award, the most important in the sector, is voted by readers of the prestigious Conde’ Nast Traveller, who fill out questionnaires on their preferences and tourism experiences, which are then analyzed by an independent market research company and officially formulated under various categories.  Italy has received an extremely high number of preferences in all of the categories of evaluation for the final results, but above all for its culture and gastronomy.

Conde’Nast Traveller, which exceeds 83,000 circulation copies monthly and is considered one of the leading publications in the field of tourism, enjoys an excellent working relationship with the London office of ENIT-Agenzia.
