AVE launches complimentary bike share amenity for residents

Beginning April 2nd, each AVE community will have a fleet of orange foldable Citizen Bikes that residents can borrow complimentary to take a leisurely trail ride at a community park or to enjoy outdoor fitness.

UNION, N.J. – When corporate travelers are polled about the stresses of business travel, “interrupted fitness routines” always makes the Top 5.

“At AVE, we specialize in furnished accommodations for those who are away from home for extended periods of time, whether it be work or because they are in transition,” says Lea Anne Welsh, president of AVE. “Everything we do – from the amenities we offer to our high-touch services – is to eliminate the pain points of temporary housing and to create a seamless transition for our resident from home life and back again.”

AVE is excited to announce its latest health and wellness amenity – AVE Bike Share! Beginning April 2nd, each AVE community will have a fleet of orange foldable Citizen Bikes that residents can borrow complimentary to take a leisurely trail ride at a community park or to enjoy outdoor fitness.

The AVE Bike Share program features foldable Citizen GOTHAM7 bikes. Each bike is outfitted with a 7-speed Shimano drivetrain, geared practically for hard-packed dirt trails and paved surfaces. Their stunning lightweight aluminum frame design makes for easy folding, carrying, and storing. “We chose a foldable bike style so our residents could easily port them and store them in their trunks to drive to popular local parks and enjoy bike trails,” Welsh says.

The AVE team also noticed a new trend among business professionals where biking has become a popular networking activity. “We know traveling for business for extended periods can be tough, especially when you are away from friends and family. That is why our teams go above and beyond to create a sense of community and host monthly events so our residents can network and get to know their neighbors,” Welsh says. “We thought having a bike share program would be another business and social opportunity for our residents.”
