Aegean Airlines<.> is spreading its wings following the recent purchase of two Avro RJ 100 jets from British Aerospace, which will be added to the Greek firm`s fleet at the end of June. The acquisition of the two aircraft marks the end of the second phase of the firm`s investment programme, costing 50 billion drachmas.

The company intends to expand its network which currently comprises 10 destinations, as well as boost the number of daily flights it offers from 70 to 85.

Additionally, Aegean is fully upgrading the interior of three ATR-72 Air Greece jets, which will feature leather seats and bear the company logo.

As Aegean continuously strengthens its position in the domestic flight market, the firm also reports increased passenger load. The company expects to transport more than 1.5 million passengers this year.
