IACC-Europe Annual Conference 2013 to focus on “Investing in Excellence”

IACC has partnered with the SKEMA Business School – with offices in France, China, and the US – and has invited students from Nice, France to attend this year’s annual conference to provide important insights and observations into the views and preferences of Generation Y and the impact they will have on the meetings industry as they take on their professional positions in corporate life.

NEW YORK, NY – IACC CEO Mark Cooper announced the theme and lineup of speakers and presenters for the 2013 IACC-Europe Annual Conference. The event is scheduled for Sunday 3rd and Monday 4th November at Dolce Chantilly, France. According to Cooper, the conference will concentrate on educating members on ways to enhance the Meetings Experience at their conference venues and to gain insights as to how to perform in a hyper-competitive marketplace.  

Cooper says the content will be among the major reasons to attend and participate. He notes, “This conference will be more participation driven with an emphasis on relevant, cutting-edge content along with important opportunities for networking. Our key objective is to provide an exceptional “IACC meeting experience” for all attendees attending from around the globe.”

Keynote speakers include:

  • Jan Gunnarson discussing Hostmanship, the art of making people feel welcome. Hostmanship is a practical philosophy that helps people to develop an inclusive culture and behaviour in organisations and places, the foundation for attracting customers, talent and partners.
  • Mady Keup, Service Design in Meetings and Events will lead an interactive session delivered with students from SKEMA Business School, Nice. Mady will talk about the importance of investing in researching the different touch-points of an event and then designing the customer journey for participants.
  • Guy Bigwood Investing In Sustainable Excellence: “how to use sustainability to drive efficiency, spur innovation, increase profits and improve customer satisfaction. Guy’s mission is to increase the sustainability of the meetings and events industry. Guy leads the Corporate Social Responsibility Team (CSR) at MCI, the world/s largest integrated event and association management company.

Other workshops include:

  • “Increasing Direct eRFP Business Your Website – 4 Strategies for Success”: Identifying best practices to separate from the pack and increase conversions via the property’s website.
  • “Event Apps: Do They Have a Place in Your Conference Centre?”: Explore how mobile trends are creating new marketing channels, new levels of social media sharing, and new event sponsorship opportunities, while also making the entire event experience more fun and interactive for attendees.
  • “Management by Collecting “BIG Data”: The importance of identifying every online touch point with a client, where there is an opportunity to capture more data or increase upselling opportunities!
  • “F&B/Operations Workshop – Benefits & Pitfalls of Buying Locally!”: Facilitated by some seasoned professionals from our members in France and England, this workshop with help better equip and inspire those who attend to seek competitive advantage by finding and doing business with local suppliers.

A fully escorted Study Tour precedes the Annual Conference from Friday 1st November through Sunday 3rd November to include area conference centres.
