Patricia E. Berry Named General Manager for the Ames Boston Hotel A Gemstone Collection Property
THE WOODLANDS (HOUSTON), TEXAS – Benchmark, a global hospitality company, has named Benjamin Caban area director of sales & marketing for Beachwalk Resort, a Benchmark Resorts & Hotels property located in Hallandale Beach, Florida, and for Marenas Beach Resort, a Gemstone Collection property in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida. John MacMullen, regional director of sales & marketing, made the announcement.
“It is a pleasure to congratulate Benjamin on his promotion” said Mr. MacMullen. “He brings vast sales contacts to his new role through his earlier work with our company’s Beachwalk Resort, as well as intimate knowledge of our markets.”
Benjamin Caban was previously director of sales & marketing for the Beachwalk Resort. He served in the same role for the Sonesta Bayfront Hotel Coconut Grove. Mr. Caban’s earlier experience includes serving as senior sales manager for the Hyatt Regency Coral Gables, and as corporate group sales manager for the Sheraton Miami Mart Hotel.
Mr. Caban is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico, Carolina Campus, where he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Hospitality Management. He resides in Miramar, Florida.

Also Benchmark has named Patricia E. Berry general manager for the Ames Boston Hotel. The luxury property, located near major downtown Boston attractions, is part of Benchmark’s prestigious Gemstone Collection. Jeff McIntyre, Benchmark’s co-president, made the announcement.
“It is with great pleasure that I welcome Trish to our company,” said Mr. McIntyre. “She brings solid on-property and executive experience to her new role, in addition to remarkable natural gifts of leadership and team mentoring.”
Patricia Berry is a veteran hotelier, having invested over two decades of her distinguished career with Ritz Carlton, both in guest service positions and eventually corporate management, serving as a corporate trainer opening 15 properties. Ms. Berry also held senior leadership positions for Hotel Monaco of Washington, DC, and most recently served as general manager of the Battery Wharf Hotel of Boston.
Ms. Berry is a graduate of Clemson University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in education. She resides in Boston, Massachusetts.
