Casa La Siesta reopens with low-season discounts, new activities and a stylish new look

Andalucian retreat from the founders of interiors brand Bert & May offers the perfect place to switch off and recharge this spring.

Casa la Siesta, the luxury rural hideaway near Vejer de la Frontera in Andalucia, Spain, which was created by the founders of London interiors brand Bert & May, has just reopened following a winter break and a major refurbishment, offering 20% discounts on stays in February and March 2023. Rooms start from 180 euros per night B&B.

Guests can enjoy a wealth of improvements including the total refurbishment of Suite 5 featuring the new Bert & May tile collection Irregular, the design inspired by the hotel’s southern Spain location, as well as an expansion of the kitchen garden to supply even more fresh, sun-ripened herbs fruits and vegetables for the hotel’s restaurant.

In addition, exciting new partnerships give guests the opportunity to enjoy tours to local cultural hotspots, as well as trying bracing activities such as kitesurfing which the region is well known for.

Casa la Siesta, a 20-minute drive from the city of Cadiz, has seven beautiful double en-suite guestrooms, most with private terraces and unique decorative style perfect for spoiling romantic escapes. There are also two self-contained houses: two-bedroomed The Stables and three-bedroomed Casita de la Siesta, which has its own 10m swimming pool.

The hotel focuses on offering guests effortless luxury, a relaxing ambience and excellent personal service. Days can be spent reading on the sunny terraces, taking a dip in a saltwater pool heated for spring and autumn, and strolling among the orange and olive trees in the hotel’s gardens. At sunset, enjoy cocktails in the al fresco bar and a delicious candle-lit dinner in the salon, before drifting into a restful night’s sleep surrounded by silence.

Adults-only hotel with family focused weeks

As a perfect retreat for adults, the hotel accepts families only during set weeks, though they are welcome to stay any time in Casita de la Siesta. The family weeks are listed here and include Easter, Summer and October half terms when the adult-only only policy is relaxed and the hotel is happy to serve early suppers and arrange babysitting as well as recommend family friendly activities when required including packing beach picnics for long lazy days on the coast.

Cultural Tours

Should guests feel like exploring beyond the hotel and the breath-taking views and grounds, the nearby pretty hilltop town of Vejer de la Frontera can be reached in a five-minute drive, with the Costa de la Luz and the beach at El Palmar just 10 kms away.

The hill-top white village is officially recognised as one of the most beautiful in Spain and the tours offer an insight into the colourful history of the region, including the famous Battle of Trafalgar, the location of which is only half an hour away.

Or, how about a private 3-4-hour Sherry Wine and Tapas Tour, from 281 euros for two? Explore la Tierra can design private tours based on specific interests, too.

Kitesurfing

The Costa de la Luz is a mecca for European kitesurfing with many locations close to the hotel including Tarifa, just a 30 minute drive away which is world renowned for the sport.

The hotel has teamed up with Total Kitesurf to offer guests bespoke packages providing knowledgeable and trusted instructors who offer a personal service taking them to the most appropriate spots depending on the wind and sea conditions and their experience.
