MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA – CSM Lodging, a division of CSM Corporation, has announced the latest addition to the growing hotel management and ownership-company’s portfolio: The Hyatt Place in Lansing Township, Michigan. The six-story, 125-key Hyatt Place Lansing hotel will be located in the Heights at Eastwood adjacent to the Eastwood Towne Center. Construction for the new $18.3 million, 82,000 sq. ft. Hyatt Place Lansing Eastwood is expected to commence in early April with a target opening of Spring 2015. This is CSM Lodging’s first joint venture with MDG Development, a development and management firm specializing in projects within North America and Europe.

“We are excited to be a part of the new Hyatt Place Lansing Eastwood and to grow our portfolio in Michigan,” said Bill Upshaw, the president of CSM Lodging. “Our joint venture with MDG Development allows CSM to continue to grow our third party management platform. CSM is also excited to develop our first Hyatt-branded hotel, and we look forward to furthering our relationship with the Hyatt family of brands.”

Kent Gregory, owner of MDG Development said, “MDG has been a leading national build-to-suit developer since our beginning in 2002. The Hyatt Place Lansing Eastwood is an opportunity for us to develop a new relationship with CSM Lodging.” Kent Gregory continued, “To expand our hospitality sector, we are currently reviewing a number of other new hotel developments. We look forward to working with CSM on future opportunities.”

“We are pleased that CSM Lodging, MDG Development and Hyatt, one of most recognizable and upscale lodging companies in the world, plan to open a Hyatt Place in the area’s popular Eastwood Entertainment and Lifestyle Complex,” said Jack A. Schripsema, president/CEO, Greater Lansing Convention & Visitors Bureau.

The new Hyatt Place Lansing Eastwood hotel will be conveniently located at the Lake Lansing Road & US-127 interchange; minutes from highly-ranked Michigan State University and from Michigan’s State Capitol.
