Le Collectionist launches in the UK – bringing a global portfolio of over 1,000 properties to the market

The French company, which was founded in 2013 by three entrepreneurs who were tired of experiencing disappointing home stays, offers stylish and luxurious home rentals in over 100 countries.

LONDON – Le Collectionist, a unique and pioneering player in the sharing economy, is rapidly expanding its collection of exceptional properties, and now boasts a portfolio of over 1,000 luxury villas, chalets, castles and islands spread across six continents as it launches to the UK market.

The French company, which was founded in 2013 by three entrepreneurs who were tired of experiencing disappointing home stays, offers stylish and luxurious home rentals in over 100 countries – providing access to a worldwide selection of private properties. Bridging the gap between a five star hotel stay and a home rental company, Le Collectionist is leading the way in a rapidly expanding niche market following a successful launch in its local market.

With a dedicated team of expert travel specialists, Le Collectionist offers an unparalleled, tailor-made villa experience with a private, hotel-like service and concierge. Rentals range from Chateau Beynaguet in Languedoc, an exceptional 17th century palace once stayed in by King Louis XIII, to the award-winning Villa Chaweng Noi, a contemporary home that sits on top of the spectacular coastline in southern Thailand, with 180-degree ocean views and two infinity pools.

Each and every one of the Le Collectionist properties offers a refined and authentic experience that embodies the ‘home away from home’ concept. The company ensures that all Le Collectionist stays are of the highest standard by carefully hand-picking the list of properties available, and by providing dedicated and bespoke concierge and hotel-like services for each property, such as daily cleaning.

Furthermore, guests of Le Collectionist benefit not only from the freedom and space provided by a home rental stay, but also the additional hotel-like experiences Le Collectionist tailors for each customer – such as housekeeping, a butler, a chef, or even a nanny.

Max Aniort, executive director of Le Collectionist, comments: “We’re delighted to be formally launching our business to the UK market. Although the company was founded in 2013, 2014 was the year when things really kicked off, so we are still in relative infancy. Around 30% of our current client database are UK-based – a base we have attracted largely by word-of-mouth referrals from our home-owners – and we’re excited to grow this database further.”

He continued, “The original idea for Le Collectionist came after a disappointing trip to Barcelona via a well known home rentals company – the property did not live up to its photographs and communication with the owner was tiresome. We knew we had to do something different. Of course there are many other home rental companies out there, but we believe that our levels of service is what really differentiates Le Collectionist from its competitors. Our concierge team operates 24/7 to ensure that each guest’s demands are met – be it a private chef, a boat trip, a list of the best restaurants, a cot, anything.”

Having already partnered with leading luxury brands such as Orlebar Brown and Mr Porter, the company is now preparing a fundraiser to accelerate its development and fund new projects as it looks forward to growing its business with the aim of raising 10 million euros by the end of 2017.
