New Park Manor completes multi-million pound refurbishment

With 21 bedrooms, an award winning spa, indoor and outdoor heated pools and a great restaurant, the hotel offers a superb retreat in Britain's most popular national park.

Set in the heart of the New Forest, with wonderful views over the surrounding woodland and heathland, New Park Manor was once the favourite hunting lodge of King Charles II. Now part of the Luxury Family Hotel collection, it has recently undergone a multi-million pound refurbishment and is set to become the finest new luxury hotel for families in the New Forest.

From the moment guests step into the light, welcoming entrance hall, with toys at the perfect height for little hands, and see the beautiful stripped wood floors and rugs in the lounges, with comfy sofas just waiting to be sunk into, it’s clear this is a place that will be special for families of all ages. The atmosphere is one of a stylish ‘home-from-home’, with Daisy the whippet there to meet guests as they arrive and attentive, relaxed service ensuring a stay here is as comfortable as possible.

With 21 bedrooms, an award winning spa, indoor and outdoor heated pools and a great restaurant, the hotel offers a superb retreat in Britain’s most popular national park. Set in acres of gardens, complete with a heated outdoor pool, fairy garden and lovely lawns with croquet set up, New Park Manor provides plenty of space for everyone to switch off and enjoy quality time together in a beautiful setting. With New Forest ponies and deer grazing just beyond the hotel grounds, and the forest itself with its many footpaths and cycle routes, it offers the perfect combination of the great outdoors on your doorstep, with all the facilities and comfort on offer at the hotel.

The building comprises an original 17th century manor house, where the lounge areas, restaurant and many bedrooms can be found, as well as a more modern extension, where there are further bedrooms, a ‘Den’ for children aged up to 8 years, a Blue Room for older children, the Bath House Spa and pool. There is also a great Cinema Room where families can sit back and enjoy a good film together on some of the comfy sofas or beanbags. The Cinema Room can also be used as a function room, and with its large bi-folding doors opening out on the gardens with views of the Forest beyond, it makes a lovely setting for a wedding or celebration. The 13 bedrooms in the main manor house have all been totally refurbished and now feature a blend of contemporary and traditional styles, with soft, comfortable beds, bright cushions, textured throws and great artwork throughout. All are very individual in style, and named after members of the family who lived in the Manor House in the 1940s. From rooms in the eaves with sloping ceilings and exposed beams to more spacious Country Classic bedrooms, many of which have wonderful views over the forest, and the grand Manor Deluxe rooms, there is plenty to suit families of all ages and sizes.

The eight Forest Rooms, located in the newer part of the hotel, are named after the different tress that can be found in the Forest and all have been refurbished in bright, contemporary style. The perfect choice for families with older children, they offer interconnecting rooms, each with their own bathroom, and even have the treat of a TV screen above the bath.

The Den is the creche facility for children up to eight years, which offers two hours complimentary childcare per child per day. It is filled with tempting toys and games and offers exciting activities such as painting, puppet and mask making as well as plenty of creative play. There is a great snug, with comfy sofas, toys and plenty of books, whilst The Blue Room, for older children, offer table football, traditional board games, WII, PS3, Kinect, and is ideal for older children looking for some fun. Baby listening is available in the evenings, to enable parents to relax and enjoy a meal together, whilst babysitters can be provided at extra cost. Cots, highchairs and other essential baby equipment are all provided, whether this is a mini-fridge to keep milk cool, a bottle warmer or changing mat.

The award-winning Bath House Spa is perfect for all generations, and is a highlight for any stay at the hotel. Known as the ‘Spa in the Forest’, it blends in with its surroundings and combines fun for all the family with top quality treatments and facilities. A swim in its 16 metre pool can be enjoyed whilst taking in the panoramic views and a soak in the outdoor Canadian hot tub also gives the chance to absorb the sights and sounds of the forest. Other facilities include thermal rooms (sauna, steam room and sanarium), hydrotherapy and spa pool, a Kneipps foot spa, experience shower, relaxation rooms and fitness suite. There is also a range of tempting treatments, with a team of talented therapists using [comfort zone] and Mama Mio products. Treatments on offer include a Tranquillity Body Massage and a Monticelli Warm Mud Cocoon, as well as a number of pedicures and facials. The spa is open to all guests who are staying at the hotel, but is also a popular choice for Spa Days for those who live locally.

Food at New Park Manor is a treat for everyone, with a choice of eating areas, including the newly refurbished Stag Restaurant, with its wooden floors and clean table settings; the fabulous Garden Room, with its windows overlooking the gardens and contemporary floral theme, as well as the Chef’s Dining Room for smaller groups and private parties. The lounge, with its comfortable sofas and huge fireplace, is the perfect spot for a delicious afternoon tea or aperitif before dinner. The Head Chef creates a tempting choice of top quality cuisine in which local produce plays a leading role, including seafood from Lymington, wild mushrooms and venison sourced from within the New Forest, along with locally foraged herbs and greens. Children’s meals are available throughout the day with High Tea always a favourite with younger guests.
