Technology on the private island of Tetiaroa in French Polynesia, launches official website

The website debut is the latest advancement for The Brando, the one-of-a-kind resort located on Tetiaroa, an atoll composed of 12-islets surrounded by the blue expanse of the South Pacific, 30 miles northeast of the island of Tahiti.

TETIAROA, FRENCH POLYNESIA – The Brando, a unique resort and model of sustainable technology, located on the private island of Tetiaroa in French Polynesia, and a product of the late Marlon Brando’s vision, is proud to announce the launch of its official website at thebrando.com.

The website debut is the latest advancement for The Brando, the one-of-a-kind resort located on Tetiaroa, an atoll composed of 12-islets surrounded by the blue expanse of the South Pacific, 30 miles northeast of the island of Tahiti. Tetiaroa has always been a privileged retreat -a place of utter beauty, peace and tranquility, first for the Tahitian royalty as recorded by Bougainville, Cook, Bligh, and others, and more recently for Marlon Brando and his family.

The Brando offers a new paradigm. A feast for the senses, incomparable luxury of accommodations and appointments, delectable fine dining, sumptuous spa experiences, and personalized service tailored to a guest’s every whim. The goal for The Brando is to become the first new resort in the world to obtain LEED Platinum certification, the organization’s highest accolade, as new construction in the campus category. With innovative and pioneering technology, sustainability, stunning environmental purity, scientific research, and authentic historical and cultural legacy, it brings the past and future together into a place beyond time, providing a powerfully enriching experience.

“There is nothing like The Brando in the world,” said Richard Bailey, CEO of Pacific Beachcomber S.C., French Polynesia’s largest luxury hotel and cruise operator and developer of The Brando. “The vision was to create a plan for Tetiaroa’s development with the purpose of protecting its cultural richness, natural beauty, and incredible biodiversity, and to provide an opportunity to get to know the place and the people of French Polynesia. We hope The Brando will show a way for future resort development.”

“The Brando has all the elements of a truly memorable and life enriching experience and is endeavoring to operate exclusively with renewable, non-fossil energy sources drawn from the sea, the sun, and other renewable resources, with no sacrifice to luxury and comfort,” said Silvio Bion, General Manager, The Brando. “In addition to exceptional service, The Brando will feature 35 villas with private plunge pools, two restaurants, a bar lounge, a beach bar, a spa, fitness center, pool, library, tennis court, organic garden and orchard, luxury pearl shop, boutique, an EcoStation, and various island and lagoon activities. One of the highlights of Tetiaroa is that it is completely private with its own airfield. For a select few, a limited number of luxury home sites on a choice stretch of beach will also be available.”

The website provides island and resort maps; details on The Brando’s amenities and offerings; facts regarding Tetiaroa’s geography, biodiversity, and history; as well as specific information regarding the resort’s sustainable development efforts and EcoStation which is dedicated to scientific research and conservation.

The Brando’s Grand Opening is scheduled for July 1, 2014, and will begin accepting advance reservations in early 2014 for resort stays from July 1, 2014, and beyond.
