Denver Landmark is 35th hotel to join Marriott International's growing portfolio of independent hotels

DENVER – Autograph Collection announced that Denver’s most iconic luxury hotel, The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa, has joined its exclusive portfolio of independently owned and operated properties. In conjunction with its 120th anniversary this month, The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa is the 35th property to be added to Autograph Collection’s growing roster of hotels.  Open for business every day since its inception in 1892, The Brown Palace joins the company of some of the world’s most exceptional properties including Turnberry Isle Miami in Miami, Florida, The Algonquin Hotel in New York, New York, the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada, and The Saint Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana. The hotel will continue to be operated by Quorum Hotels & Resorts, which has been involved with The Brown Palace since 1987.

We’re thrilled to be a part of the distinguished Autograph Collection,” said Marcel Pitton, Managing Director of The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa. “By tapping into the powerful distribution channels of Marriott International, while allowing The Brown Palace to continue to trade upon its iconic name and history, we believe that the Autograph Collection affiliation positions the Brown Palace perfectly for future success.

Autograph Collection, an exclusive collection of upper upscale and luxury hotels within Marriott International’s global portfolio, is comprised of independent hotels with distinct personalities in major cities and desired destinations worldwide. A natural fit for the iconic Brown Palace, Autograph Collection celebrates innovative hotels that offer the variety of one-of-a-kind, authentic experiences that many guests are seeking when they travel.

We are delighted to celebrate The Brown Palace joining Autograph Collection as the Collection’s 35th hotel,” said Noah Silverman, Chief Development Officer, North America Full Service Hotels for Marriott International.  “This iconic landmark is a tremendous addition for Autograph Collection and is perfectly aligned with our expansion strategy to enlist unique properties across the globe to our rapidly growing portfolio.”

Each Autograph Collection hotel possesses its own distinct identity and appeals to discerning travelers who are looking for a creative experience that only an independent hotel can deliver. Joining Autograph Collection allows The Brown Palace to further showcase its renowned legacy and extraordinary personality. Through the partnership, the hotel will gain access to Marriott International’s global sales and marketing channels, including the award winning Marriott Rewards loyalty program.

Managed by Quorum Hotels and Resorts, The Brown Palace has received numerous honors and accolades over the years, including being named a Forbes Four Star and AAA Four Diamond property. Together, the Quorum leadership and Autograph Collection affiliation will highlight The Brown Palace’s individuality while offering guests the benefits and scale of the Marriott International system and revenue platforms.

Being a part of Autograph Collection provides a great opportunity for The Brown Palace to maintain our unique identity and share our history with an expanded network of dedicated travelers looking for extraordinary experiences,” said Tony Farris, Chairman/CEO and Principal of Quorum Hotels and Resorts.

To celebrate The Brown Palace joining Autograph Collection, the hotel is awarding 1.000 Marriott Rewards Bonus Points for guests booking reservations between September 12th and December 5th 2012.
