The Blue Diamond Stakes, a popular event among precocious young stars, will be held at the Caulfield racecourse in Melbourne on the 20th of February, a Saturday.

It's that time of the year that every racing fan has been looking forward to. The Blue Diamond Stakes, a popular event among precocious young stars, will be held at the Caulfield racecourse in Melbourne on the 20th of February, a Saturday. The time will be communicated later. The racing event is a 2-year-old series that involves two major lead-up events. These events take place under a 1200-metre turf and the contestants are differentiated by sex. There is the Blue Diamond Preview for Fillies and the Blue Diamond Prelude for colts and geldings. They have set weights where fillies must weigh 53kgs and colts and geldings weigh 55.5kgs. This event is the richest 2YO in Victor with its prize money set at $1,500,000.

How to join and the prize money
Those who want to participate in the racing event must pay their entry charges in advance. The winner takes home a $15,000 trophy and a $900,000 prize money. The Blue Diamond Stakes event involves three high profile autumn races which are accompanied by Oakleigh Plate and Futurity Stakes.

The Blue Diamonds Stakes nomination results will be published as soon as the $1,500,00 event happens on 20th February. The first yearling's nominations closed in July last year and generated 1614 yearlings. The first Blue Diamond Stakes declarations closed in November 2020. They were charged at $330 and featured between 500 to 600 young stars.

The second declarations close in one and a half months before Blue Diamond Stakes day and the connection charges are $440. The third and last round of declarations is conducted in the last week before the race. The connection fee is $660, and the window closes at the end of January. Players can enter their horses on the last day but at a massive charge of $55,000.

History of the racing event
The racing event was first held in 1971 and was won by Tolerance. Last year's winner was Tagaloa, who is trained by Natalie Young and Trent Busuttin. Other previous winners of the race include Extreme Choice, Alinghi, the great Manikato, Star Witness and many more. An important figure in the Blue Diamond Stakes is David Hayes who, together with his son, has trained a whopping six Blue Diamond Stakes winners.
