DELRAY BEACH, FL – The Seagate Country Club – welcoming members and guests of the affiliated Seagate Hotel & Spa– has announced the hiring of John Michael Phillips, the new Director of Rackets, Jason Rouk as Director of Agronomy, and Daniel  Williams as Assistant Wellness Director.

In his role, Phillips oversees both social and competitive programming tied to the club’s tennis and pickleball offerings, including mixers, events, tournaments, and lessons. For the past several summers, Phillips has been Director of Tennis for The Bay Club in Mattapoisett, Massachusetts. His winter-time occupation is as an independent professional working in Palm Beach, Florida, at such prestigious clubs as the Palm Beach Bath & Tennis Club. He graduated from Western Connecticut State University with a Bachelor of Science in social studies. He also received a certification in secondary education. His teaching philosophy focuses on players being active and engaged, and he encourages them to compare themselves to who they were yesterday rather than someone else today.

“This position provides me with an incredible opportunity to play, coach, and manage a tennis program at a great club in a great part of the country,” said Phillips.

Rouk has diverse experience throughout the United States, cultivating his skill set as a turf manager of  both cool and warm season turfgrass. Most recently, he was employed by the La Gorce Country Club in Miami Beach as the Golf Course Superintendent. He has worked with the USGA, PGA of America, and PGA Tour agronomists in developing and overseeing programs to ensure successful major golf events on the world stage. He received a BS in Horticulture and Landscape Architecture from Oklahoma State University and is a longstanding member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association.

“In my new role at The Seagate Country Club, I look forward to enriching members’ golf experiences by combining my passion for golf course maintenance with my love of the game,” said Rouk.

Williams brings an extensive background as a personal trainer and fitness instructor with over 20 years of experience training and coaching, having taught over 5,000 Orangetheory classes during his time with the company. In his role with the Seagate Country Club, he will work with members looking to improve their golf performance, as well as their overall well-being.

“My aim in this new position is to share my gift of energy with each member to create an unforgettable training experience regardless of age and/or fitness level,” said Williams.

“We are an innovative and motivated group, and we welcome these new additions to our team,” said Karl Bublitz, General Manager of Clubs. “We know they will complement our already outstanding recreational offerings by bringing their distinctive backgrounds and expertise.”
