WestJet wants to share the love with travel agents

Airline celebrates second annual Travel Agent appreciation month.

CALGARY – WestJet celebrates Travel Agent Day after launching a month-long campaign designed to recognize and thank our valued travel agent partners across the country.

The travel industry has celebrated Travel Agent Day on the first Wednesday of May for the past three years, with Canadian travel agencies and the Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA) leading the way. WestJet takes the idea one step further by designating the entire month of May as an annual opportunity to thank its travel trade partners.

“Travel agents have been critical piece of our business for almost 20 years,” said Bob Cummings, WestJet Executive Vice-President, Sales, Marketing and Guest Experience. “We deliver a very specific brand promise to our guests, and travel agents understand the value, the experience and the choices we offer to business and leisure travellers. Our goal is to make WestJet an easy place to do business with, and we hope that is reflected in the many new features we have to offer the travel trade.”

WestJet once again rolls out Hooray for TAs, an exclusive contest for travel agents, taking place all month long. This year’s contest features 60 prizes, including WestJet Vacations packages, flights and WestJet dollars. Travel agents are encouraged to visit hoorayfortas.com for full contest details and registration.

WestJet will also host a series of travel trade expos across Canada this month, designed to provide information on WestJet and WestJet Vacations products and services, as well as a forum for dialogue between the airline and travel agents.
