Mandarin Oriental Atlanta offers unique agrotourism trip for travellers

Enjoy a luxury getaway and volunteer at a local farm in Atlanta with the new agrotourism package offered by the Mandarin Oriental.

HONG KONG – For travelers interested in learning about the connection between the land and food, the new Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta offers a unique educational opportunity to visit a local farm with its Experience Farming package. In partnership with Daron Joffe (known as Farmer D), founder and president of Farmer D Organics in Atlanta, guests of Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta can enjoy a day trip to Burge Plantation located an hour from the hotel. Guests will engage in a variety of farming activities, such as picking fruit and tending to vegetable gardens.

The farm field day begins with a farm-to-table breakfastat the hotel’s Cafe & Bar restaurant where Farmer D will share his experiences as an organic farmer and talk about sustainability, food and agriculture. Following a lovely drive to Burge Plantation, Farmer D will teach the day’s activity followed by a delectable lunch provided by the hotel for guests to enjoy.
