Constantina Tsoutsikou appointed Senior Associate at HBA London

Constantina Tsoutsikou’s new role brings increased responsibilities, including the development of the imaginative concepts that establish the direction for each project.

LONDON – Hospitality interior design firm, Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA), HBA, announces the promotion of Constantina Tsoutsikou to Senior Associate at the group’s London studio. Constantina, who joined HBA in 2005, has been a key creative force overseeing many of the London team’s most celebrated international projects.

Her new role brings increased responsibilities, including the development of the imaginative concepts that establish the direction for each project. In addition to designing and managing her own work, she will also draw upon her hospitality expertise to provide guidance for other HBA London colleagues.

Constantina’s talents have been honed over the years through destinations such as the much-admired Raffles Istanbul Zorlu Center, one of a number of award-winning spa projects she has designed and led. Her contemporary concept echoes the essence of the city as a place steeped in ancient traditions and rituals, yet also an important influence in modern times. Constantina’s design of the highly acclaimed ESPA at The Europe in Killarney, Ireland, one of her first projects with HBA, continues to win awards for its dramatic beauty some nine years after completion.

HBA London has several exciting projects slated for completion in 2017, including those designed by Constantina such as Piramal Aranya, an exclusive new residential landmark in Mumbai nestled amongst lush historic botanical gardens and with stunning views of the Arabian Sea. The Orient, the Isrotel brand’s first property in Jerusalem and part of its “Exclusive Collection”, will also make its debut. HBA London’s design for this five-star luxury hotel draws upon the Swabian influences in the revitalised German Colony quarter as well as the vibrant flavours and artistry found in Jerusalem’s eclectic layering of ancient cultures and religions. Also in the pipeline, HBA London is working with Marriott on the renovation of a luxury boutique property in Place Vendome, Paris, on an iconic heritage building with Rocco Forte in Italy and on a Luxury Collection destination in Doha.

Hilton Amsterdam Airport Schiphol
As the powerhouse behind the Hilton Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Constantina’s inspired vision has been lauded for its innovative approach in establishing a new benchmark for airport hotels. More recently, she has imagined the bedrooms at the Westin Excelsior Florence, which elegantly weave the glorious palette and artistic inheritance of Tuscany with contemporary Italian influences.

Constantina began her career as a Designer for Estee Lauder’s beauty brands. She holds a BA (Hons) from the Technological Educational Institute in Athens, Greece, and an MA in the Built Environment, Interior Design, from University of the Arts London.

“I feel honoured to have been promoted within the HBA family,” explains Constantina. “Our team is highly diverse, with creatives drawn not just from interiors, but with backgrounds in textile, product and industrial design, too. There’s a wonderful chemistry in our collaboration, yet it’s also a deeply personal journey. We not only create experiences, we build dreams – the settings for the most special celebrations and once-in-a-lifetime moments that become cherished memories for guests. I am very excited about this next chapter for our London studio.”

In other promotions, Kirstin King and Leo Sentou have joined Erica Pritchard as Associates in the London team.
