The whole process consumed 15 tons of bright white paint, 13,208 gallons of concrete, 25 cubic meters of wood, 12,000 bricks and 100 meters of luxury tent cloth.
The Ritz-Carlton, Sharm El Sheikh is renowned for the bright white color of its 18 buildings. As beautiful as it is, white is a very difficult color to maintain in the desert. In time, the bright white turns to sandy white or off-white, which why repainting the resort consumes hundreds of gallons of white paint, said Ricco DeBlank, the resort`s general manager.
After the refurbishment, The Marquee, the resort`s unique conference facility, and the three function rooms, Tiran I, Tiran II and Aqaba, are refreshed and ready for the upcoming meetings and incentives season.
The resort`s three award-winning gourmet restaurants, La Luna, Blue Ginger and Fayrouz, were repainted and the hand-made ceilings and floors were polished, while the spa and fitness center had the floors replaced, walls painted and equipment maintained. Even the walkways and passages between the resort`s lush gardens and pools were renewed.
All of the efforts would not be complete without the renovation of the resort`s 237 rooms, 45 suites, 20 Club level rooms, 5 Club level suites and the Club lounge. Walls, ceilings, floors and furniture all restored and retouched.
